Funeral Services for Mrs. Sallie White Goodloe,77, of Cincinnati, Ohio formerly of Courtland, AL will be 10:00AM Friday in Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Dwight Willingham officiating. Inhumation will follow in Willingham Cemetery in Courtland, AL.
Sallie was born the second daughter of the late Libby Willingham Jackson in Courtland, Alabama on May 7, 1949. She passed away on May 14, 2026, at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her mother (1990), her father, David White, and her “beloved brother, Nathaniel “Joe” Willingham (1998). She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Courtland Primitive Church, where she was active in Sunday School and the Junior Choir and cherished midweek prayer services held in members’ homes. She remained a faithful member until moving to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1967. In Cincinnati, Sallie was united in holy matrimony to Percy Goodloe, who preceded her in death in 1982. She joined Bethlehem Baptist Church that same year. In 2004, she became a faithful member of New Saint Stephens Community Church until 2018, when she joined New Prospect Church, where she remained devoted to God and her church until her passing. Sallie loved the Lord and faithfully served on the Usher Board, Fundraising Committee, Kitchen Committee, Mothers Board, facilitated Sunday School, and helped wherever needed.
She worked for the Internal Revenue Service for 21 years before retiring in 2000. During her career, she received numerous accolades, including Superior Performance, Special Achievement, and Managers Awards, and was especially proud to receive the 1998 Federal Employee of the Year Award for Community Service.
She loved children and served as a certified daycare provider for Hamilton County from 2001 to 2005. She later worked at the International College Preparatory Academy (ICPA), where three of her granddaughters were students. At ICPA, she was committed to “making a difference” in the lives of children-and she did, for many of them. Some of her mottos were, “If you’re going to do something, do it right or don’t do it at all,” “You are responsible for your own actions,” and “Always believe in yourself.”
