Earl Glenn Palmer, 81, of Priceville, Alabama, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2026, at his home surrounded by family and friends. A lifelong resident of Morgan County, Earl was a 1963 graduate of Falkville High School.
After high school, Earl enlisted in the Air Force, rising to rank of 1st Class Airman. He served in Texas and throughout Europe. He retired after 30 years with AMOCO in Decatur where he was an IE Technician for electrical and A/C systems. He was a member of the Elks Club and of the Baptist faith.
His many hobbies and interests included hunting, fishing, working in the yard, and grilling out for his family. An avid Auburn fan, he enjoyed watching football and basketball.
Earl is survived by his wife of 24 years, Donna Dean Palmer of Priceville, son-Greg Palmer (Tracey) of Trinity, daughter-Tracy Silas (Michael) of Harvest, granddaughter-Emily Palmer of Trinity, Grandson-Nathan Silas (Brianna) of Athens, Sister-in-Law-Jean Palmer of Hartselle, and multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents-Reese and Estelle Wray Palmer, his son-Jeffery Glenn Palmer, and his siblings-Bobby Palmer, Pervis Palmer, Charles Palmer and Wanda Palmer Daniel.
Pallbearers are Mark Palmer, John Mark Palmer, Steven Woodard, Laine Champion, James Whitlock, and James Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers are Sam Ellison, Bob Shoenmeyer, and Tom Powell.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of the Hospice of the Valley for their support during Earl’s illness.
Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle will be handling the arrangements. The services will be Thursday May 21, 2026, with visitation from 1pm to 3pm and the funeral at 3pm. Bro. Cameron Penton will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations can be made in Earl’s name to the Hospice of the Valley.
Earl will be laid to rest in Midway Memorial Gardens in Moulton.
