Bruno John Procopio, 85, of Gurley, AL passed away on November 4, 2025.
Bruno was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated from Msgr. Bonner High School in June 1958. He enlisted in the US Army in 1963 and was stationed at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, where he obtained the rank of Sgt. E-5. He served as the Communications Center Supervisor until he was honorably discharged in 1967. He moved to Huntsville in 1970 and began his career in law enforcement in 1981 when he joined the Madison County Work Release Program. In 1986, he joined the District Attorney’s Office as a Criminal Investigator and worked there until his retirement in 2006.
Bruno leaves behind his loving wife of 36 years, Dorothy Mann Procopio, two sisters – Dolores (Jim) Hazel of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Jean (Joe) Smith of Seffner, Florida, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruno and Grace Procopio, sisters Theresa Everitt, Rose Vitali, and Grace Gentile, and his brother Joseph Procopio.
Bruno was a lifetime adventurer and always planning his next vacation. He visited 28 countries and 46 states throughout his lifetime. He was the life of the party with his wonderful sense of humor and endless entertaining jokes. This world has lost a true gentleman and the ultimate dance partner.
Visitation will be Friday 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at New Hope Funeral Home. Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, Friday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Al Geise officiating.
Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery.
