Donald L. Dickerson, age 81, of Decherd, Tennessee, passed away on June 4, 2024, at his residence. He was born on October 30, 1942, in Coffee County, Tennessee, to the late Virgil and Avaree Certain Dickerson. Donald was a US Army Veteran. He also retired from Carrier after 36 years. Donald was a member of Gum Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Decherd where he was an Elder, and taught Sunday School. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Braves. Donald was strong willed, kind, and had an enormous heart. He will for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them. He always carried himself with dignity, strength, and was always full of love. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Dickerson; one sister, Kay Hambrick. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Christine Dickerson; children, Michelle Garner (Chris) and Scott Dickerson; grandchildren, Brittany Garner and Emily Garner, sister, Carolyn Bearden; niece, Shelia Marie (Mitch); nephew, Tony Bassett (Mary); great niece, Karmen Buchanan (Ken). Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Roy B. Watson Chapel of Watson Funeral Home with bro. Gary Tubbs and Rocky Rays officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Gum Creek Cemetery.
