FLORENCE- The Spirit of Freedom Celebration may be a thing of the past but the City of Florence with a little help from their friends have managed to put together a Celebration. According to an announcement on the City of Florence’s Facebook page the event will be a fireworks show from 9:00 PM until 9:30 Pm on Tuesday, July 4.
After URBan pulled out and left the Quad Cities with no celebration for the 4th the City of Florence stepped up along with some business sponsors to see that the fireworks display went on as planned.
More planning is needed and the City of Florence has called a special work session meeting:
A special called Council Meeting of the Florence City Council has been duly called for 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, in the City Hall Auditorium, 101 South Pine Street, City of Florence, Alabama., for the purpose of approving contracts regarding the Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration. The Public is invited to attend.
