MUSCLE SHOALS – 21st Annual Swampers 5K & 1 Mile Run/Walk Returns April 12 – Now an
RRCA Championship Event.
The Muscle Shoals community is invited to lace up their running shoes for the 21st Annual Swampers 5K
&1 Mile Run/Walk on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Muscle Shoals Middle School. This cherished event
has promoted family fitness and community engagement for more than two decades, and this year it’s
reaching a new milestone. The 2025 race has been designated the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA)
Southern Region 5K Championship.

• Time: 5K starts at 8:00 AM; 1 Mile Run/Walk follows at 9:05 AM

“We created this event 21 years ago to get families out to exercise together, and it has been great
seeing so many kids and families out running together," said Josh Aycock, event organizer. "The 5K
course is flat and fast, designed to be open for one hour, and followed by a 1 Mile Run/Walk that’s
perfect for all ages and fitness levels.”
Registration and Fees:

Participants will receive a commemorative Swampers run t-shirt. All 5K finishers, along with children
aged 12 and under participating in the 1 Mile, will receive finisher medals.
The event will also include a team competition, school competition, and plaques for age group winners,
adding a competitive element for those looking to challenge themselves or their group.
