Anita Glidewell Wamsley Anita Glidewell Wamsley, 87, formerly of Burnsville, Mississippi, died on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital in Newnan, Ga. She moved to Georgia in 2014 to be near family and was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Before moving she was a longtime member of Iuka Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, organized the choir music, helped with bible school and volunteered many other ways as needed.

Throughout her life she was a homemaker, loved to cook and was an avid seamstress both as a profession and at home. She worked at various factory jobs and in the summer loved to grow a garden and can or freeze vegetables for the winter.  Reading was a passion of hers.  She read every John Grisham novel he wrote. She loved her grandchildren and her great grandchildren as she became known as “Great-gran.”

She is preceded in death by her husband, L.A. Wamsley.  She is survived by her son, Bryan Wamsley (Maureen), her two grandchildren; Marilyn DeLong (Joshua) and Adam Wamsley (Cayla), and her eight great grandchildren; Loralye, Wesley, Logan, Andrew DeLong and Noah, Emma Charlotte, Ethan, and Landon Wamsley.

Cutshall Funeral home is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday, June 24, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Iuka Baptist Church.  Services will be Friday, June 24, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Iuka Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Jim Holcomb. Burial will be at Rutledge-Salem Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Donald Shackelford, David Shackelford, Skip Miller, Neal Moss, Matthew Thorn and David Williams.

In lieu of flowers, donations are to be sent to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tn.
