FLORENCE – Tuesday night The Florence City Council discussed the issue of whether a change needed to be made to the city code that allows a microbrewery to open in places where manufacturing is allowed, such as the Florence-Lauderdale Industrial Park.
After some discussion the City Council has decided that it would be a great benefit to the area’s economic development.
The code only allows beer sold on the premises of the facilities, the change in the code states ”all beer on the premises for tasting and sampling is to remain on the premises”.
The owners of the property plan to make the facility a tradition brewery environment, it is not going to be a pub style brewery. Therefor it would abide by all of the code standards; no food will be served and all beer dispensed there will be given out either by barrel, keg, or any other company owned containers.
