Michael “Mike” Norman Peil, born February 19, 1946, passed away on May 31st, 2023, at home in Lacey’s Spring, Alabama where he received loving care from his daughter and son-in-law for the last few years of his life.

Mike was very devoted to the Catholic faith and adored receiving the Holy Eucharist. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam Era, owned his own HVAC company for many years, and drove long haul trucks for 15 years before retiring to care for his aging parents in Warrenton, Virginia. His sense of humor, ability to fix anything and his absolute dedication to his mom and dad will long be remembered. He is now at peace in the loving hands of God and is joyfully in the presence of his mother, Elizabeth, father, Norman, sister, Kathy, brother, Chris, wife, Irma, and other friends and family that preceded him in death.

He leaves behind family and friends, including three children and their spouses, Patricia and Robert McAuliffe, Bill Peil, and Robyn Elliott; three grandchildren, Cortney, Kory and Zach; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Koda; siblings and their spouses, Pat and Alex Reibe, Lisa and Frank Benke, Mark and Cheryl Peil, Diane and Don DeFord, and Greg Peil; and a ton of nieces and nephews in numbers too many to name here.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21st at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 13550 Chaney Thompson Rd SE, Huntsville, AL 35803 with the Funeral Mass following at 10 a.m. Military honors will be rendered after the service. Burial services will be held at Alabama National Cemetery at 2:00 in Montevallo, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his name.
