Hurley Hugh Bedsole

Hurley Hugh Bedsole, 91, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2022. Hurley was born on May 30, 1931, in Enterprise, AL to Oree and Jessie Bedsole. Their family later moved to Florala, AL where Hurley became the star football player for the Florala Wildcats. Hurley served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He then settled into life in Huntsville, AL where he spent the rest of his professional career working with NASA until his retirement.

Hurley’s family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Enhabit Home Health for the loving, kind care they provided while he was in home hospice care.

Hurley was preceded in death by his parents, Oree Bedsole and Jessie Owens; brothers, Ruhane and Ernie; and sisters, Myra and Geraldine.

Survivors include his wife, Edna; sons, Keith of Owens Cross Roads, and Rodney of Nashville, TN; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29th, at Huntsville Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
