Shirley Fay “Nanner” Colston Powell, 77 of Ardmore, Alabama passed away March 1, 2021 at Athens Limestone Hospital in Athens, Alabama.
She was born on May 3, 1943 in Ardmore, Alabama to Ben Bryant and Mable Culps Bryant.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cullen Colston, Jr.; grandson, Derrick Broadway; brothers, David Bryant, Jimmy Bryant, and Curtis Bryant; sisters, Ruby Blade and Clair Dean Bryant.
She is survived by her sons, Dwight (Peggy) Colston of Ardmore, AL, and Terry (Lisa) Colston of Ardmore, AL; daughters, Brenda (Tom) Mowell of West Palm Beach, FL, Sandra (Lester) Patterson of Taft, TN, and Betty (Benny) Broadway of Ardmore, TN; brother, Billy (Shirley) Bryant of Athens, AL; sisters-in-law, Pat Bryant of Ardmore, AL and Betty Bryant of Ardmore, TN; longtime friend, Pat Darnell of Decatur, AL; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Billy Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
Pallbearers will be Eric Colston, Timothy Colston, Caleb Colston, Brent Patterson, Thomas Colston and Darrell Bryant.
Due to Covid-19 and the Statewide Mandate, Mask will be required and must be worn at all times when entering the building and while in our facility. Also, must practice social distancing and hand washing.
