A Family Memorial Visitation for Hershel Junior Poindexter, 87 of Counce, TN will be Monday, December 14, 2020 from 3:00 P M to 5:00 P M at Church of God of Prophecy in Michie, TN. Mr. Poindexter passed away Saturday, November 29, 2020 at Adamsville Health Care and Rehab Center. He was born August 13, 1933 in Michie, TN to Hershel Poindexter and Rachel Gray Poindexter. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed making windmills out of aluminum cans and crafting. He loved collecting jewelry and going to gospel sings. Hershel is survived by his son, Buddy Poindexter (Cheryl) of Michie, TN; his daughters, Annice Young (Tommy) of Counce, TN and Lisa Poindexter (Mike Billingsley) of Counce, TN; step-son, Tracy Lambert (Cristie) of Corinth, MS; step-daughters, Rhonda Lambert of Michie, TN and Wanda Lambert Mills (John) of Michie, TN; 2 grandchildren, Jay Poindexter and Mikia Poindexter; 9 step-grandchildren; 19 step great grandchildren; 1 step great great grandchild; brother, Ocie “Pud” Poindexter (Imogene) of Michie, TN; sisters, Barbara Whitten of Selmer, TN and Edith Campbell (Gary) of Selmer, TN; special friend, Betty Jane Smith of Counce, TN; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Stella Mae Poindexter; 1st wife and mother of his children, Mary Jean Poindexter; his father, Hershel Poindexter; his mother, Rachel Gray Poindexter; his sisters, Juanita Poindexter, Faye Farris and Wilma Ruth Whitten. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Angel Christmas Fund @ Adamsville Health Care and Rehab Center, 409 Park Avenue, Adamsville, TN 38310.
