Gary Dale “Gomer” Powell, age 60, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at his residence. He was a native of Lawrenceburg, TN, former employee of Murray Ohio and AOC Metal Works. He was an avid sportsman that enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, bowling and racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Betty Ruth Woodall Powell; one brother, Brent Allen Powell; and one great-niece, Evelyn Reese Powell.
He is survived by two nephews, Cody Powell (Paige) and Tyler Powell both of Ethridge, TN; one great-nephew, Brently Ace Powell of Ethridge, TN; one great-niece, Espen Marie Powell of Ethridge, TN; aunt, Margaret Couch of Appleton, TN; uncle, Donnie Powell of Appleton, TN; fur baby and only child, Charlie.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 20, 2020, with Art McCormack officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN.
