Two Lawrence County Schools Delay Opening Due To COVID-19

MOULTON– On Tuesday, August 11 it was reported that  two Lawrence County Schools will delay starting in-schooling for two weeks due a person connected with the school testing positive for COVID-19.  This person is connected to both Moulton Elementary and Moulton Middle Schools all of this according to Lawrence County School superintendent Dr. Jon Bret Smith.

According to Smith This individual came in contact with 10 people who have all been notified of this situation.

Classes at both schools are scheduled to begin on August 26.  Smith said postponing the opening of these schools was recommended by the Alabama Department of Public Health.

All other schools in the Lawrence County School District will begin in-school classes as scheduled on Wednesday, August 12 , which is the district’s first day of school this year.
