Opal Rose JerroldsOpal Rose Jerrolds was born in Savannah, Tennessee on July 17, 1937 the daughter of the late Elvin and Virgie Stricklin Rose.

On June 15, 1963 she was united in marriage to Wayne Jerrolds, who survives.

Opal worked from 1955 to 1992 at Brown Shoe Company. She was a member of Turkey Creek Union Church. Opal had a heart of gold. Even though she retired as a shoe worker, her true life’s work and joy came from helping to raise her younger siblings, her daughters, and grandchildren. Opal loved working in her yard, and traveling to watch her husband Wayne, daughter Paula, and granddaughter Lourdes sing and play music. She never missed a chance to enjoy a shopping day out with her daughter Sadonnah and granddaughter Brandy.

Opal departed this life on Sunday, July 5, 2020 in Iuka, Mississippi at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 18 days.

In addition to her husband Wayne of 57 years of Savannah, Tennessee, she is survived by her daughters, Sadonnah Gant and Paula Jerrolds, both of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Brandy Rogers, Brandon Gant, Anna Martin, Clent Martin, and Lourdes Ochoa; great grandchildren, Landon Murphy, Max Rogers, Kaydence Martin, Laytin Martin, and Brady Willoughby; sisters, Virginia Qualls, Jackie Smith, and Janie Spurgeon, all of Savannah, Tennessee; brothers, Bobby Lee Rose, Jerry Wayne Rose, Jimbo Rose, Larry Rose, and Ronnie Rose, all of Savannah, Tennessee.

Opal was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Roberta Fielder.
