Mrs. Edna Ruth WalterMrs. Edna Ruth Walter, age 76 of Union Grove, Alabama was called home in the early hours on Friday, June19, 2020 at her residence.
Mrs. Walter was born in Morgan County, Alabama on November 20, 1943 to the late Albert Holt and Wonnie A. Whisenant Holt. Mrs. Walter worked as an assembler at the Chrysler factory, but retired her position after 25 dedicated years to the company. Mrs. Edna had many activities she loved to partake in, such as; soap opera and western shows, dining out, attending her church and spending every second she could with her family and her grandchildren. Mrs. Walter was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Walter is her two loving daughters, Melissa A. McElyea (Stanley) and Angela Smith (Troy); sisters, Betty Cason (Wendell) and Nancy Krogh; grandchildren, Justin Cannon (Adalis), Laura Layne (Jason), Samantha Crawford (Garrett), Savannah McElyea, Tyler Smith (Taylor), Trevor Smith (Elyssa) and Jordan Smith; 7 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walter is preceded in death by her husband , Ronald George Walter; son, Steven Law; brothers, Carl, Buck and Don; sisters, Jean and Sue.
Visitation for Mrs. Edna will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2020 at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services in honor of Mrs. Walter will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, interment to follow at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Bryan C. Mosley, officiating.
Pallbearers will include; Justin Cannon, Jason Layne, Tyler Smith, Garrett Crawford, Trevor Smith and Jamie Steele.
