Suspect In Rape Case Turns Herself In To Athens Police

ATHENS-On Wednesday, May 27 Athens Police chief Floyd Johnson issued a statement regarding the arrest of a suspect who was wanted on warrants of Second Degree Rape:

Jada Areial Acklin turned herself in this morning on a rape second degree warrant.

On May 17, 2020 the police department received a complaint about Acklin which is 21 years old having  sexual relations with a 14 year old male. Sergeant Johathan Caldwell investigated the case and obtained a warrant for Acklin’s arrest. In this case it appears that it was a consensual relationship. This incident occurred in the 700 block of 5th Avenue.

Acklin was booked at the police department and transferred to the county jail.”
