MONTGOMERY-The latest update on Wednesday, March 25 by the Alabama Department of Public Health confirms that the number of cases of COVID-19 in Alabama increased by 103 cases from the report given on Tuesday. The total number of cases reached 386 with one death reported by the Jackson County Commission Chairman Tim Guffey.
Lauderdale County has 7 Cases, Franklin 2, and Colber County reports their first case.
Guffey reported in a statement released today saying one of the commission’s part-time employees has passed away. Guffey said,“The employee worked in a department at the Jackson County Courthouse that did not require regular contact with the public. All county employees who worked in the same department have been notified and none of them have reported any symptoms associated with the COVID-19 virus.” According to Guffey ADPH has confirmed the death of the employee as being caused by COVID-19
This would be Alabama’s first death and has not yet been confirmed by the ADPH.
