Murder Charges Levied Against Woodville Man In Sunday Homicide Near Estillfork

JACKSON COUNTY – The Jackson County sheriff’s Department issued a statement concerning the arrest of a suspect in the murder that took place on Sunday, March 1:

On Wednesday March 4, 2020, members of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Raymond Lawrence TALLEY age 27 of Woodville, Alabama in connection with the Murder of Charles David MCEWEN.

MCEWEN was found, deceased, in a wooded area on Jackson County Road 140 in the Estillfork community in northwest Jackson County on Sunday March 1, 2020. MCEWEN’s death appeared to be a Homicide which was investigated by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division.

Based on this investigation, TALLEY was charged with Murder, Possession of Methamphetamine, Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Pistol and 4 counts of Altering a Serial Number on a Firearm. TALLEY was placed in the Jackson County Jail and Bond has not yet been set.
