UPDATE – Fire Chief McAnally released on bond after felony indictments

TUSCUMBIA – Rodney Harold McAnally,, Sr. surrendered to the Colbert County Sheriff’s Department this morning after he was indicted on 2 felony charges that arose from his work at the Littleville Volunteer fire Department.

The Colbert County Grand Jury returned true indictments on McAnally this morning on felony charges of Theft of Property 2nd Degree and Use of Public Office For Personal Gain. The investigation was conducted by the Alabama State Fire Marshall’s Office, which referred the case to the Grand Jury.

Tuscumbia Fire Department

It is reportedly alleged in the indictment that McAnally, who is also the Tuscumbia Fire Chief, used his position in Littleville to commit the felonies. He was released on bail which was set at an as-yet undetermined amount.

More information which should fill in most of the blanks is expected to be released by the Court Clerk later in the day.
