Artist profile:

Alecia Elliott offers a gift that goes way beyond a big voice. Alecia has the ability to create a mood, tell a story, and take the listener on a musical journey.

Born in the musical town and tradition of Muscle Shoals, Alabama on Christmas Day in 1982, this talented 36-year-old showed her love for singing almost immediately. By the time she turned 8, Alecia knew that she was destined to be an entertainer. At age nine, Alecia got the chance of a lifetime, when Lorrie Morgan heard a tape of Alecia and invited her to sing a concert duet. By the time she was eleven, standing ovations at Buddy Killen’s Stockyard and Bull Pen Lounge were the norm for Alecia. Her outstanding performances were rewarded by an invitation to sing at the 1995 Grand Ole Opry Inaugural Concert for Governor Don Sundquist.

Alecia has toured Europe, sung beneath the National Christmas Tree on the White House Lawn, and performed at a variety of music festivals and concert venues across America. She has taken the stage with a list of artists that include: Pam Tillis, Brenda Lee, Loretta Lynn, Billy Ray Cyrus, Lari White, Collin Ray, Joe Diffie, Bebe and Cece Winans, Johnny Cash, Keith Urban, and went on tour opening for Christina Aguilera. She sang a duet with Vince Gill as well. She was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and was excited to meet Ice Cube who was on the show as well that night. She was also named one of Maxim’s Hot 100 in 2000.

It didn’t take long for Alecia to make her way into the Nashville office of MCA Chairman Bruce Hinton and President Tony Brown. And at fifteen years old MCA signed her to a deal and began work on her first album. Produced by Tony Brown and Jeff Teague, Alecia’s debut album was recorded in Nashville and completed in May of 1999. The album contains eleven songs including two songs co-written by Alecia. ‘I’m Waiting For You” and “You Wanna What”.

Alecia later signed a joint venture deal with Island Def Jam and recorded a Country Pop crossover album but it never was released. Alecia also signed a deal with NBC Network, Peter Engel, to do a Saturday morning TV show called, “All About Us”, In which she co-wrote the theme song, “Brand New Day”. Alecia also made an appearance on the TV show, “Malibu C.A”. She has recorded tracks on movie soundtracks such as: the animated “Tom Sawyer,” a duet with LeAnn Womack, and the theme song for “Prancer Returns” called “If You Believe.”

Alecia has also written and recorded an R&B album and performed in LA and Atlanta for a while. She is a songwriter of many genres such as Pop, Rock, R&B, Jazz, Blues, and, Americana. She is a well rounded singer who will most definitely captivate her audience. Alecia has a voice filled with soul beyond her years that will no doubt appeal to music lovers of all ages.
