Neil William Buettner, Sr., 92, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday. Mr. Buettner served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from BellSouth Telephone and was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church. Neil was a skilled handyman during his retirement, along with helping other people.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Buettner, and a daughter, Joyce Buettner Horan.
Survivors include his children, Neil Buettner, Jr. (Lana), and Kathy Kay (Jim); grandchildren, Melissa Horan, Sarah Beth Vines (Brian), Anna Buettner Wilson (Clay), Claire Buettner, Matthew Buettner and Nathan Davis; great-grandchildren, Grayson Cook, Annsley Cook, J. T. Vines, Daniel Vines, Samuel Vines, Sarah Helen Vines, Brody Wilson; and Baby Boy Wilson on the way.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20 at Ascension Lutheran Church. The funeral service will follow at the church with Pastor Bernard Ansorge officiating. Burial will be in Cullman City Cemetery.
