Max Gilbert age 92, Haleyville, AL. passed away Thursday June 20, 2019. He served in the United States Army during WWII and the Army National Guard 107th Trucking Company during the Korean Conflict, retired Conductor from Illinois Central Rail Road and a member of Sunny Home Baptist Church.

His visitation will be Sunday June 23, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, funeral at 2:00PM in the chapel, with Eddie Everett officiating. Burial in Winston Memorial Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Adam Pearce, John Reynolds, Danny Nolan, Hugh Brown, Jonathan Gilbert and Dee Gann.

He is survived by his children, Jane Gilbert Burleson and Tim Gilbert, his wife Janie; sisters, Virginia Mann and Bennie Sue Gann, her husband Richard; grandchildren, Lottie Melissa Pearce, her husband Adam, Brittany Erin Reynolds, her husband Jon and Perri Leigh Gilbert; great grandson, Griffin Burleson Reynolds; sister in law, Faye Gilbert; a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Lottie Leola Gilbert; wife, Ima Jean Gilbert; brothers, Charles Gilbert and Jerry Gilbert; son in law, Ronnie Burleson; brother in law, Eber Mann.
