TUSCUMBIA-Keller Kids is the disability-education portion of the annual Helen Keller Festival. In its 25th year, Keller Kids offers elementary school age (3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade) children the opportunity to learn about the everyday life of persons who are deaf, blind and deaf-blind.
A fun filled day of hands on educational experiences includes a Keller Kids tee shirt, lunch (hamburger/hot dog or you can bring your own lunch) and Certificate of Participation.
Since Keller Kids falls on Helen Keller’s birthday, we will have a birthday celebration at Ivy Green at 2:30 pm. Keller Kids graduates will also be given the opportunity to participate in the Festival Parade on Thursday, June 27, 2019. This year’s Keller Kids will be limited to the first 100 students registered.
