Charles T. Long – Obituary

Charles T. Long, 69 years old of Courtland passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 at his residence. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery.

Charles was a member of House of Prayer Church. He loved playing his guitar, singing, bush hogging, watching the Atlanta Braves, spending time with family, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years: Brenda Borden Long, two sons: Thomas Long (Stephanie)

and Jack Long(Amanda), one daughter: Amy Odell(Scotty), one brother: Marvin “Buddy” Long, two sisters: Anie Bell Cole and Evelyn Agee(Raymond), six grandchildren: Amberly Proctor(Josh), Austin Long(Nathalie), Tayler Bruton(Alan), Hannah Gilley(Ben) Danyon Long(Catelyn), and Tim Odell, six great grandchildren: Hartley Proctor, Hayden Proctor, John Bruton, Jay Bruton, Jesse Coleman Gilley and Victoria Bruton, eighteen nieces and nephews and beloved pet: Chipper.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Mr. and Mrs. Coleman and Ellar D. Long, two brothers: William Long and Billy Ray Long, one sister: Reba Huckaba and one grandson: Thomas Long and one great grandson: Braylen Proctor.

Pallbearers will be: Austin Long, Danyon Long, Tayler Bruton, Hannah Gilley, Amberly Proctor and Tim Odell. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Nathalie Long, Alan Bruton, Ben Gilley, and Josh Proctor.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Naveen Lobo, Dr. James Boyles, and Hospice of the Valley.
