Horace Barnett, Sr., age 78 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at home. Mr. Barnett was born April 17, 1940 in Limestone County to Roy Barnett, Sr. and Bertha May Lewis.
Funeral Services for Mr. Barnett will be held Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Bill Bailey, Mike Green and Dusty McLemore officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, February 23, 2019 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in LimestoneMemorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Zona Barnett; daughters, Debbie Corrine Woods, Glenda Gayle David (Randy) and Zona Lynn Williams; sons, Horace Barnett, Jr. (Barbara), Jimmy Wayne Barnett and Paul DeWayne Barnett (Michelle); sisters, Doris Moore and Rebecca Emerson (Buddy); brother, Richard Barnett (Esther); 10 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Bessie Holman and Sue Kyle; brothers, Grady Barnett, Allen Barnett, James Barnett, Jessie Barnett, Cordell Barnett, Roy Barnett, Jr. and Bobby Barnett.
Pallbearers will be his Grandsons.
