  F.05.14.24 Jared Gregory Box.jpgJared Gregory Box, of Florence, was born July 14, 1984, he passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 at the age of 39. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Cornerstone Church of Christ from Noon until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow with Caleb Chambers and Donnie McDaniel officiating. Burial will be in Central Heights Community Cemetery.

He was a graduate of Central High School. Jared graduated from the University of North Alabama with degrees in business management and hospitality management. Jared attended Church of the Highlands, Cornerstone Church of Christ and Mission of Mercy. He loved playing golf and loved his friends and family. Jared started working at Big Star at the age of 16. He owned and loved Big Star Supermarket in St. Florian, it was his pride and joy! He loved helping those in need and would do anything for anyone. Jared cared deeply about his employees and the St. Florian Community. He loved to travel, especially to the beach.

Jared was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas C. and Carolyn Sue Box; grandfather, William Charles Winborn; uncle, Wendell Box.

He is survived by his parents, Greg and Sherry Box; sisters, Erica Faith Darby (Steven) and Jessica Lynn Harrison (Tyler); nephew, Harrison Darby; nieces, Avery Darby, Lila and Harper Harrison; grandmother, Sovola Winborn; aunts, Sarah Box and Carol Winborn; cousins, Skylar Creel (Marlee) and Chelsea Fox (Matt).

Pallbearers will be Jacob Kendrick, Donavan Creamer, Ryan Neal, Steven Darby, Tyler Harrison, Harrison Darby, Drew Brooks, and Skylar Creel. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Hayes, Joey Williams, Eric Davis, Dewayne Newton, Terry Cox, Tim Rippey, Steve Mosley, Marty McCain, Kevin McCain, Jimmy Potter, JC Lovelace, Les Wylie, and Matt Brown.
