DECATUR-On Saturday, February 2 Morgan County Rescue Squad responded to a 911 call at around 1:55 PM with a report of an unoccupied fishing boat tied to a barge mooring dock near the railroad bridge.
Responders searched the Tennessee River and later that afternoon found the body of Stephen Forrest Johnson, 59 floating in the river near Ingalls Harbor. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morgan County coroner.
According to Morgan County Sheriff Jeff Chunn the body was sent to the Alabama Forensics Department for autopsy.
