Athens Youth Commission tours historic Donnell House Festival of Trees

ATHENS-The Athens Mayor’s Youth Commission toured the historic Donnell House on Tesday, November 20 and saw the Festival of Trees.

Donnell House was completed in 1851 and has an 1830s-era cabin on site. Various groups and citizens decorate Christmas trees, fireplace mantles, staircases and more for the Festival of Trees. The Youth Commissioners got a private tour and learned about the site’s history from tour guide Alice Tiller.

Donnell House, located at 601 1/2 S Clinton St in Athens will allow the public to see the Festival of Trees from 1-5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day and on Saturday, Nov. 24, and Sunday, Nov. 25. Cost is $5.
