Florence Kyle Carpenter – Obituary

Florence Kyle Carpenter, 76 of Sheffield, AL passed away Monday, September 17, 2018.  She was a native of Youngstown, OH and a graduate of Coffee High School and Florence State College with a degree in Elementary Education.  She received her Masters Degree from UNA.

After college she taught elementary school at Lexington School and also taught Sunday school at St. James and Highland United Methodist Churches.

Some of her loves in her life was decorating using her favorite colors of blue and white and gardening and flowering where she received a beautification award for their yard.  She adored all animals and especially her dogs Elsa and Birdie.

Visitation will be held today, September 20, 2018 from 9 – 10:00 am at Elkins Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Dean Bowers officiating.  Interment will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Mary Kyle.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Seymour Ben

Carpenter, Jr. ; brothers, John Kyle (Shelia) of Hartselle and William “Billy” Kyle of Florence; sisters, Eileen Kyle of Sheffield and Mildred Risner (Reid) of Birmingham.

In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to the animal shelter or the charity of your choice.
