Colbert County sends emergency “SEEK SHELTER NOW” message in error…

COLBERT COUNTY – According to Colbert County EMS in Tuscumbia, the emergency notification system malfunctioned this morning at approximately 7:50am. The sirens and the message, according to the 911 operator in the Colbert County EMS Center, it was operator error that caused the sirens and public address system to warn residents to “Seek Shelter”.

The EMS operator said that there is no known threat to residents at this time.
