Sheffield-Like an annual physical examination, communities need to have an occasional check up on their overall health too. That’s why Huntsville Hospital Health System and its affiliates are conducting a Community Health Assessment throughout north Alabama over the next several months. The assessment includes an online public survey, as well as feedback from physicians, and data from local, state and national health agencies.

A comprehensive report from this study will be released during the first quarter of 2013. County specific reports will be produced for a dozen north Alabama counties, including Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Morgan and Jackson Counties.

Doug Arnold, CEO of Helen Keller Hospital, said, “The findings from this assessment can help our communities establish health priorities and improvement strategies for the future. As an affiliate of Huntsville Hospital Health System, we would like residents of our community to go online and take the self assessment. The survey is completely anonymous.”

The health assessment survey is available online through the end of the year at www.hhsys.org/HealthSurvey/ or at Helen Keller Hospital’s website at www.helenkeller.com
