Leander “Mutt” Bailey age 89 of Athens, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Bailey was born October 17, 1928 in Limestone County, AL to James Bailey and Lucy Underwood Bailey.
Services will be Wednesday, June 20, 2017 10:30 a.m., at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Carl Witty officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Bailey was a member of Sardis Springs Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by five brothers, James Bailey, Tom Bailey, John Bailey, Leo Bailey and Edward Bailey.
Survived by his wife, Georgia Bailey of Athens; three daughters, Pat Slaton of Athens, Wanda McBrayer and husband, Rhett of Cullman, AL and Leigh Ann Romine and husband, Byron of Athens; two grandchildren, Layton Romine and Anna Romine both of Athens; one sister, Hattie Limbaugh of Athens.
Pallbearers will be Layton Romine, Rickey Bailey, Jimmy Bailey, Ted Barnes, Don Hester and David Putman.
