Shelia Dickerson Oswalt – Obituary

Shelia Dickerson Oswalt, 47, passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center on April 11, 2018. Shelia was born in Tupelo on July 10, 1970 to David and Dot Dickerson. Shelia was a member of the Tupelo Church of God. She was a 1989 graduate of Mooreville High School where she was a member of the Lady Trooper basketball and softball teams and an award-winning member of the track and field team. She was a part-owner and operator of Dickerson Drywall.

Shelia enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to church, and spending time with her family. She loved being outside and spending time with her animals, especially her beloved dog, Trixie.

Survivors include her husband, Claude Oswalt; her daughters, Jennifer Langley her husband, Ryan, Mallory Oswalt, LeeAnn Oswalt, and Tammy Oswalt and her grandson, Ridge Langley. She is also survived by her parents, David and Dot Dickerson and siblings, Michelle Sheffield and her husband, Russell and Matt Dickerson and his wife, Tasha and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Clint and Marie Dickerson and Ed and Velma Taylor; nephew, Caleb Sheffield and in-laws, Billy and Virginia Oswalt.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Tupelo Church of God.

Services honoring Shelia’s life will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Tupelo

Church of God with Pastor Judd Vowell officiating. A private graveside service will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Dewayne Dickerson, Eugene Kimble, Mike Knox, Rickey McGlaun, Kenney Pickering, and Blake Teeters.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Bullock, Tim Highter, and Andy Black.

Memorials may be made to the Tupelo Church of God Youth Group, at 1813 Briar Ridge Road, Tupelo, MS 38804.
