TENNESSEE VALLEY-TVA released a statement concerning the record amounts of electricity produced over the weekend of January 5 through January 8:
“This weekend, (January 5-8) Browns Ferry Unit 3 passed 650 consecutive days of producing energy for the people of the Tennessee Valley.
During 2017, Browns Ferry’s three units produced the station’s highest annual amount of electricity ever – more than 28 billion kilowatt-hours – and continues to add to another record for consecutive days all three units have been online – 283 days and counting.
These milestones are the result of TVA’s commitment to equipment reliability and the hard work and dedication of its employees to safety and performance excellence as part of its mission of service.
Browns Ferry’s output was a key factor in meeting high energy demand during the recent stretch of sub-freezing temperatures.”
