Vicki Vines Gandy, 63-years-old, passed away Oct. 8, 2017, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Akins Funeral Home, Russellville, Alabama. A graveside service will be Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Franklin Memory Gardens.
Vicki was born March 22, 1954, in Birmingham, Alabama to Marvin Taylor and Callie Vines.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her aunt, Clarice Mitchell.
Vicki graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1972 with a B.S. in Education. She then received her master’s degree in education from the University of Alabama Birmingham. Vicki taught at Hewitt Trussville Elementary School.
Mrs. Gandy is survived by her husband, Kenneth Gandy; two sons, Brandon Gandy (Aymee) and Justin Gandy, both of Russellville; and her grandson, Rhett Gandy.
