William Edward “Pops” Talley Jr. passed away Oct. 8, 2017, surrounded by people he loved.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Spry-Williams Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Reverend William Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Ed spent his life telling jokes and making friends. He was kind to those he met and never wanted anyone to be alone. He loved his family, being outdoors, and taking his puppies wherever he went.
He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend William (Bill) Edward Talley Sr.; mother, Minnie Higgins Talley; sister, Evelyn Thornton; nephew, Keith Thornton; and granddaughter, LaKrisha Thigpen.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Pauline (Polly) Talley; daughters, Kimberly Thigpen (Junior) and Jeri Talley Stanford (David); sister, Peggy Rickard (Linford); brother, John Wayne Talley (Hester); grandchildren, Kayla Burgess (Blake), Kristan Kujath, Deven Kujath, Abby Stanford, Aron Thigpen (Crystal), Misty LeClair (Joshua), Shelby Thigpen, and Phyllis Thigpen; great-grandchildren, Blakely and Miles Burgess, Anne-Marie and Gage Thigpen, and Bryant Thigpen; his sidekicks, Riley and Aaron Woody; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be John Talley, JR Higgins, Linford Rickard, David Stanford, Blake Burgess, Chris Talley, Riley Woody, and Greg Woody.
