Doris Dean Jackson Johnson, of Tuscumbia, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 at the age of 83. Her visitation will be Friday, September 22, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Barrett Long officiating. She will be buried in Tri-Cities Memorial Cemetery.
Doris was a native of Tuscumbia and retired from Tuscumbia Utilities. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia on Dickson Street. She was preceded in death by her husband, Quinton Frison Johnson; and her parents, Fletcher Bradon Jackson and Mattie Elizabeth Taylor Jackson.
She is survived by her son, Samuel Eric Johnson (Lisa) of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Cynthia Dean Reed of Florence; brother, Charles Hubert Jackson of Decatur; sisters, Dorothy Jean Shiver of Arkadelphia and Martha Grey Sherrill of Muscle Shoals; grandchildren, Amy Johnson, Eric Johnson, and Alicia Sibley; and great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Kaleen.
The deacons at First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia on Dickson Street will serve as pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
