Johnnie L. “Toots” Chafin, age 87 of Jasper, passed away Wednesday August 23, 2017 at her residence. She was a member of Liberty Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be Friday August 25, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Liberty Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Roger Miller and Pastor Scott Pierce will officiate. Burial will follow at McCormack Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial chapel. There will be a singing at the church Friday from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J. A. and Annie Swindle; one brother and two sisters.
She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Velton Chafin; daughter, Brenda Chafin; son, Anthony Chafin; grandchildren, Jonathan Chafin (Renee); Talitha Chafin; Alexa Chafin; her favorite pet, Sissy Mae; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, along with His Sacred Harp singing friends.
