Elliott “Buddy” McElroy – Obituary

Elliott “Buddy” McElroy, 86, of Rogersville died Sunday, January 08, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Starkville, MS, a graduate of Starkville High School and Mississippi State University. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Navy, a pharmaceutical representative for many years and retired as the president of Allied Lawn Mower Company, Pulaski, TN. He was a faithful member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
A memorial service will be Tuesday, January 10th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Pat Driskell officiating. Friends may visit from 11 – 1 at the church on Tuesday.
Mr. McElroy was preceded in death by his parents, H.E. “Mac” & Irene McElroy; sister, Elizabeth Ann Wachter; wife, Beatrice Ann “Beechie” McElroy; mother of his children, Shirley “Sis” McElroy. He is survived by his fiance, JoAnn Martin; children, Slade (Kim) McElroy, Susan (Perry) Carter, Melissa “Missy” (Murray) Waldrop and Deanna (Morris) Hall; grandchildren, John Slade (Kelly) McElroy, Joel McElroy, Matt McElroy, Kayla Rae Maness and John Taylor Maness; great-grandchild, Isabel McElroy; brother, Charles Slade “Pap” (Melinda) McElroy; step-children, Ann Randol Stephens and Sally (Greg) Bergquist; step grandchildren, John “Jay” (Whitney) Bergquist, Ann (Craig) Stevens, Parrish Bergquist and David (Hope) Bergquist; two step great-grandchildren; special friend and caregiver, Carolyn Tate; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
