Kenneth Roy “Booty” Neal, 92, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away peacefully on Wednesday.
A lifelong resident of Madison County, Kenneth owned and operated Neal Industries for more than 25 years. He was a devoted family man who found great joy in his grandchildren, and especially cheering them on at their ballgames. He also truly enjoyed spending Sunday afternoons together with family and friends over a good meal. Kenneth was a hardworking provider, a steady presence, and a man who dearly loved and cherished his wife of 59 years, Ella.
In addition to his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, Winfield and Viola Neal; son, Barry Neal; daughter, Debra Thompson; brothers, John H. Neal, Bruce Neal, Donald Neal, Leon Neal, and Billy Neal; and sisters, Thelma Rich, Margaret Clark, and Eleanor King.
Left to treasure his memory are his daughter, Sharon (Steve) Groce; grandchildren, Michaela Nicole (Jason) Keel and Bryan Thompson; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Brentley, Easton, Angel, and Brooklyn; brother, Junior (Dana) Neal; special friend, Terry Hillis; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be held Saturday at New Hope Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with services beginning at 1 p.m. officiated by Bro. Doug Browner. Pallbearers will be Jason Keel, Hayden Keel, Mike Kretzschmar, Wayne Durham, Brad Neal, and Jonte Cotton.
Interment will follow in Green Valley Cemetery.
