Marvin Dale Smith of Prospect passed away on Sunday evening, December 11, 2016, at his home. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee on May 7th, 1938 and was 78 years old.
He served in the United States Marines Corps and was past Commandant of Giles County Marine Corps League, and member of Sons of Confederate Veterans. He was Retired Manager of Fleet Operations for the United States Postal Service. Marvin was Past Master and Member of Pulaski Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 101. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church in Prospect and active in the Pulaski District of The United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 13th from 3:00 until 7:00pm followed by a Masonic Service at 7:00pm at Bennett-May-Giles County Funeral Home.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 14th from 12:00 until 1:00pm followed by the funeral service at 1:00pm in the Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Robert Layne and Rev Brad Smith officiating.
Burial will take place in Prospect Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Elder Smith along with his parents Jerry Allen and Rosalie Greer Smith, sister, Amelia Smith Presley and brother, Will Allen Smith.
