FLORENCE-Following a 2015 event that brought in $1.5 million in economic impact in to the area, the Florence/Lauderdale Tourism Board voted today to approve a three-year commitment with The Bass Federation (TBF) to hold its High School Fishing World Finals Championship in Florence in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
“The 2015 event was a total success,” said , Assistant Director of Florence-Lauderdale Tourism. “This is the largest economic impact of any tournament ever held here. The three-year commitment will allow multi-year advertising and potential to increase the tournament size dramatically.”
“We are absolutely thrilled to be returning to Florence for the next three years” stated TBF National Youth Director Mark
Gintert. “The entire city and staff from the Florence/Lauderdale Tourism group were just terrific, and we look forward to a long relationship working with them.”
The tournament, which brought in 166 boats from 22 states in 2015, is shown on national television on NBC Sports, the World Fishing Network, the Outdoor Channel and the Pursuit Network.
