World Famous Drummer Roger Clark at Alabama Music Hall of Fame

MUSCLE SHOALS – Roger Clark has done it all. In fact, Roger is still doing it. We’re talking about Roger as a world-class drummer. By his estimate, Clark has performed on over 200 albums in his storied career.

Then there’s Jimmy Johnson. Swamper, Jimmy Johnson. Jimmy will tell you, if you pry it out of him, that he’s credited with over 800 albums. Of course, that’s as a musician and a producer. And Jimmy’s nowhere close to stopping.

So this guy from Waukesha, Wisconsin drove down here to see if Clark and Johnson would agree to autograph some albums of his they appeared on. They said, “Sure. I mean, how many could there be, anyway?”

Did we mention that the Wisconsin fan’s name is Albumman? Really, Albumman. He showed us his driver’s license and Social Security card. So, there were a lot of albums on the table upstairs at FAME Studios.

Albumman Compton’s house is filled with vinyls. Something like 20,000. It appeared that he brought a fair number of his collection with him.

So Clark and Johnson sat at opposite ends of the conference table, broke out their Sharpies and got started. Needless to say, it took a while. Roger and Jimmy made Albumman’s day.

The Quad-Cities Daily was on hand to capture the event and we present a few of the photos.
