The Cherokee Library’s Silent Auction And Book Sale Set For December 6th

libraryCHEROKEE — Just as Christmas comes only once a year, so does the Cherokee Library’s silent auction and book sale.
This year’s book sale and auction is from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, December 6 at the library, 118 Church St, Cherokee. Among the rare and collectible books up for auction are a 1920 edition of “Hunger” by Knut Hamsun, a 1932 autographed first edition of “The Flying Carpet” by Richard Halliburton, an autographed copy of “Muscle Shoals Canal and the Canalers by Joshua Nicholas Winn III, a 1948 edition of “Babe Ruth” by Martin Weldon and a collection of art books.

The non-silent auction book sale will feature as many books as you can get in a large grocery sack – $5 on in a plastic grocery sack for $3. The sale includes more than 125 boxes of books separated by author’s last name and/or general subject matter, including Christian or religious subjects.
