THE SHOALS – Here’s a new one. There’s going to be a “Geek Gathering” in Sheffield. It’s all going down on September 28th at O’Malley’s. It’s a family event, so you can bring your little “Geeks-In-Training” to get them a heads-up on what they can expect as they grow older. Let’s face it, we geeks have the best time! The Quad-Cities Daily will certainly be there taking EVENT PHOTOS!

“Heroes and Comics and Artists and Cosplay … ALL in your own back yard??? On Saturday, September 28, 2013, we are throwing our area’s first ever convention of the popular arts at The Geek Gathering, in a goal to bring enlightenment and broaden the appreciation for Comic, Fantasy, Horror, Sci-Fi, Gaming and other Pop Culture areas.
Proceeds from various portions of this event will be given directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters, such as profits of the ticket sales, 100% of all donations, and 100% of the GAuction (Geek Auction) that will be held at the event.
As this is our first year and we are limited in funds to promote this non-profit event, we are needing to spread word of this event by word of mouth, radio, news, internet, and any means possible to make it a huge success! We are asking for your help, and if possible, to please share the info in your media. I have attached the flier for the event with our sponsors, vendors and info. However, there are SO many more coming from Nashville, Birmingham and beyond, with events filling the entire day from 10am to 5pm.
