Zula Mae Greenhill Guinn – Obituary

Zula Mae Greenhill Guinn, age 81, of Russellville, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Helen Keller Hospital.

Mrs. Guinn was a retired school teacher, having taught 2nd grade at Red Bay Elementary for years and a member of Franklin County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of Shady Grove Church of Christ.

The visitation will be 5:00 -8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The body will lie in state from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2017 at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral following at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Dempsey Cemetery.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 64 years, Gillie Guinn; children, James Guinn (wife, Ginger), Juanita Martin (husband, James “Tuck”), Janet Griffin (husband, Bill); grandchildren, Ashley Burchell (husband, Adam), Braxton Guinn (wife, Katie), Casey Stewart (husband, Trace), Paige Martin, Kalon Borden, Garrett Borden; great-grandchildren, Adley Burchell, Ellynn Burchell, Luke Guinn, Sadie Kate Guinn; brothers, Flavel Greenhill, Tulon Greenhill; sister, Brenda Pettus; and a host of nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Greenhill; mother, Ella King Greenhill; brother, Avis Bencil Greenhill; nephews, Larry Wayne Greenhill and Jody Ray Greenhill.

The pallbearers will be her nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the caregivers who have helped the family.
