Yvonne Orr, 73, of North Courtland died in a tragic car accident. Her funeral will be Thursday, April 24th. at 1:00 at Jackson Memory Funeral Home with Rev. Bryce Lipscomb officiating. Burial will follow in Courtland Cemetery.
Mrs. Yvonne Orr was born January 21, 1941 in Lawrence County, Alabama to the late Leaster and Matilda Jones. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and resided as a member of Tried Stone M.B. Church where she remained a faithful member until her death. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Society. She retired from General Electric in Decatur where she worked for 20 plus years.
She married Willie Lee Orr (Bill) on May 6, 1961. To this union seven children were born. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 53 years; Bill of Courtland, AL., four sons; Willie “Toby” (Carolyn) Orr of Courtland, AL., Micheal Orr of Courtland, AL., Eric (Wanda) Orr of Decaur,AL.and Courtney of Muscle Shoals, AL. Three daughters; Ruth (Kenneth) Johnson of Decatur, AL., Shelia Johnson of Atlanta, GA and Tonya Garner of Courtland, AL. A loving and devoted brother; Larry Jones (Brenda) of Courtland, AL. Four brothers-in-in; Johnnie Orr of Courtland, AL., Ezell (Alice) Orr of Moulton, AL, Arthur Orr and Charles Orr both of Courtland, AL. 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchilden.
