Yvonne Lee Countryman DeWald Profile Photo  Yvonne Lee Countryman DeWald, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, has sadly passed away on November 6, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on March 13, 1944, in Syracuse, NY the daughter of the late Clarene Levi and Gladys Thelma Mattice Countryman

Yvonne led a fulfilling life and touched the hearts of many with her warmth and kindness. After completing her education at Phoenix Central High School and obtaining her high school diploma, she embarked on a rewarding career as a financial secretary at the Jackson Country Club with over 20 years of dedicated service making a positive impact on the people she encountered.

Outside of work, Yvonne had a passion for various hobbies and interests. She adored flowers and found solace in their beauty. Cooking brought her great joy as she shared her delicious creations with friends and family. Her compassionate nature led her to volunteer as an activities director at Alexandria Place of Jackson where she brightened the lives of others. Yvonne also possessed an artistic spirit and spent her free time embroidering exquisite designs. She had an affinity for collecting bells and angels, cherishing their symbolism of love and protection.

Above all else, Yvonne found immense pride in being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Her devotion to family was unyielding. She leaves behind cherished memories in the hearts of her loved ones who will forever be grateful for the impact she had on their lives.

Yvonne is survived by her husband, John H. DeWald of Jackson, TN; her daughter, Pamela Joy Cronin (Michael) of Medina, TN; her son, Ronald H. DeWald (Terri) of Beech Bluff, TN; her brothers, C. Paul Countryman of Albany, NY, James Countryman (Ella) of Brooksville, FL, Terry Lee Countryman (Debra) of Liverpool, NY, Thomas M. Countryman (Lynda) of Clarksville, TN; her sister, Sharon Ann Little (Jim) of Glennwood, AL; grandchildren, Kelci Zabriskie (Billy), Ryan Cronin (Sarah), Jacob Cronin (Katelyn), Dylan DeWald, and Emma DeWald; and great-grandchildren, Bennett Cronin, Miles Cronin, Katalina Cronin, and Remington Cronin and a number of nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved canine companion, Izzie.

Yvonne’s presence will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering love, infectious laughter, and compassionate spirit will continue to inspire those left behind.

The funeral service for Yvonne will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Dr. Jerry Welch.

The family will receive friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, and continue until the service at 2:00 p.m.
