On April 2, 2016, Yvette Marie Roszell passed away surrounded by the love of all those who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date on Hardy Hill.
Yvette is survived by her fiancé:Tom Hardy; brother: Marcus Roszell; two sons: Louis Kubik of Huntsville, AL and Kevin Kubik of Thomasville, GA; and one granddaughter: Emily Kubik.
Yvette was born February 7, 1965 in Weaverville, California to James and Sharon Roszell. She graduated from Trinity High School and completed her BS in Criminal Justice at Southern Oregon State University.
She moved to Alabama in 1996 and raised two sons Louis and Kevin Kubik. She returned to school and graduated from Auburn UniversityMontgomery with a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice/Public Safety in 2003. Yvette devoted herself to helping others through her work in Madison County. She held positions at the Madison Police Department, the District Attorney’s office, the Circuit Court and the Madison County Board of Education.
Yvette most recently worked at the National Children’s Advocacy Center where she assisted communities throughout the Southern region establish coordinated responses to child abuse. Children all across the nation have been positively impacted by Yvette’s work with child abuse treatment professionals.
Yvette loved life and packed more into her short time on this journey than most could even imagine. She loved the outdoors, whether camping, fishing, gardening or running with her dog on the trails of Monte Sano. She was known to stop to help strangers on the street who were down on their luck and in need of a helping hand. She took care of others without expectations and served as a role model for all who knew of her strength and grace. That is just the person she was.
She lived her life with great love and enthusiasm and will be missed by all whose lives were touched by her sweet nature. She was beloved by friends and neighbors of Hardy Hill.
